The BOD tester is designed based on the differential pressure method, simulating the bio-degradation process of organic matter in nature. In the sealed culture bottle, the oxygen in the air above the culture bottle continuously supplements the dissolved oxygen consumed by the decomposition of organic matter in the sample. The CO2 produced during organic degradation is removed, changing the air pressure in the culture flask. By monitoring the air pressure changes in the culture flask, the BOD value of the sample is calculated.
